Guar gum is a natural gum that comes from the seeds  of the Guar plant or Cyamopsis tetragonoloba. Guar Gums are effective thickeners and stabilizers, it is soluble in cold water and  the viscosity of a 1% solution  in cold water after 24 hrs is approx 5000cps.

  • Description: Guar gum is a fine off white to pale yellow powder with a starch like odour.
  • Function / Dosage: Guar Gums are effective thickeners and stabilizers, it is soluble in cold water and the viscosity of a 1% solution in cold water after 24 hrs is approx 5000cps. Dosage for guar is 0.1 to 0.5% in food systems. The solution is translucent and has a starch like odour and flavour. Guar gum retards ice crystal growth non-specifically by slowing mass transfer across the solid/liquid interface. It shows good stability during freeze-thaw cycles

  • Shelf Life: Store in a clean, dry, well-ventilated warehouse at ambient temperature, away from odorous materials. Storage at temperatures greater than 35C may lead to a decreased shelf-life. For stock control purposes, a shelf-life of 12 months is specified.
  • Regulations: This product shall at the time of delivery conform in every respect to the provisions of the Australia/NZ food standards and regulations made thereunder. AFIS does not use genetically modified organisms for the manufacture of their products and to the best of our knowledge, the above product is manufactured from raw materials that have not been genetically modified.
